Rugby League's 'All seeing eye'
has his say again...
This is:
IT'S A BIT LATE NOW !

So finally, the RFL have realised Terry Newton is an animal, what took you so long!! Everyone fan in Rugby League has known it, yet no-one has ever acted. It has taken the total Friday nights incidents to act, why? The reason is simple, Stevo blew his top and Great Britain have lost their scrum half. As we all know Stevo blows a gasket and something happens!

I personally have no doubt in my mind, this was an intentional plan before the game. Pie Eaters would do anything to stop Saints winning anything. Newton is a born and bred Wigan pie and I believe, he decided he would take some players out to stop us winning the Grand Final. This was backed up by Millwards actions, he took him off once the damage was done. Probably using Newton's hatred to get his own personal revenge on the club that sacked him.

People will say that Newton getting ten matches is Justice, but its not. His actions are the type that got Les Boyd a 6 month and 18 month ban in Australia. Because they were so tough, this kind of incident is hardly seen, and when it is, they hammer the offending player with 12 match bans, even on first offence. If we adopted this approach in England, we may have more people playing the game and a stronger GB squad as well.

The chances of Saints winning the Grand Final are very slim. We looked bang on certainties in my eyes to win, before Friday night. We got by without Scully because of Wilkin, we can get by without Edmonson as we have a few props available, but losing Albert and Long takes the final edge away. A similar scenario is taking Calderwood, Sinfield, McGuire and Ward from the Leeds team. They can play well, but that edge would be missing, not to mention pace!

Our best chance is beating Leeds first up, and for that to happen, Leeds need to be off form. They have lost 4 in a row, so confidence is Low, but they get their injured troops back when they play us, so will be a different side. If we win this, we have a chance, due to the wear and tear that may occur in other sides trying to qualify. Unfortunately, I do not see this happening. I see Leeds beating us in a hard game, with Saints battling like hero's but just coming up short.

I then see either Bradford or Warrington even, coming along and pipping us, having put in so much against Leeds. Warrington are a treat, because the signing of Johns, takes the pressure off Briers. Lee Briers is an exceptional talent, but is easy to close down, because the opposition know he is the only real play maker. Now with Johns, he will get more room, that makes Warrington Dangerous.

To be honest, I see it as Leeds and Bradford again, with Bradford pulling it off. I hope I am wrong, but it looks like another title gone, because of injury, and not for the first time foul play! I hope I am wrong, it would surely prove what a champion side we are, lets keep our fingers crossed.

Until the next time
