So far in the season, one thing above all else has been apparent, the match officials seem to have gone backwards! This season, Saints have lost two matches, both of which would have gone Saints way but for the official's making cock ups!

Our first defeat against Leeds had us leading and approaching half time, Sean Long breaks and is brought down but not tackled, he regains his feet passes out for a try and the ref blows up, claiming he was tackled. Even the most biased commentator in living history, Stevo said it was a bad call. Then later in the game, Leeds get a 40/20 kick given that was not, they score off it! With this going to the Video ref as well, what hope does the game have when they do not even know the rules!

Against Wigan, Ian Smith fails to see a knock on in a Wigan try, taking them to 18-6 , then in the second half, Wigan knock on Ade Gardiner streaks clear only for the ref to call him back and give us head and feed at the scrum! It again results in a 12 point turn around, in a game lost by two. Against Bradford we had players in touch not given, despite it being clear, knock on's missed and then a ref clearly trying to even up his error after giving Bradford a penalty. This is the scariest part of all, it means his mind is not on the game, but on an error he has clearly made.

I have watched numerous games were the standard of the officials has been poor. I am also seeing two clear things also happen. Wigan can get away with blatant tripping, and get milder bans at the disciplinary, and, every 50-50 call this season has gone Leeds way. On the other hand, I believe Saints are not getting 50-50 calls, but that for me is down to Ian Millward, no matter what the official line may be, we are hated in rugby league circles because of our lack of respect for the game! I believe there is a sub conscious bias against us now and we will have to earn that respect back, it is very hard to do!

Getting back to the Wigan game, I am sick to death of the unlucky with injury, oh we are down to the bones bullshit from Wigan, as well as the we are down to the kids line! Just do me a favour and piss off!! I ask people to look at the squad come start of the season. Wigan on Good Friday had three players missing, Hock, Carney and Moran, that's it just three! The kids like Kevin Brown , Martin Aspinwall , Danny Tickle and Sean O'Loughlin have been in the team for two bloody years! Saints had kids in James Roby and James Graham with far less experience, plus four missing in Hooper, Scully, Talau and Higham, three of which are Internationals!

Finally, I hate to say it, but I have been proved right yet again! That lump of lard Paul Anderson has been a total waste of time. He looks pedestrian and slow, makes one good charge a game and acts like an open gate in defence. He alone was responsible for two tries against Bradford, which let them back in the game, attackers went past as if he was not there. He was like Humpty Dumpty glued to a wall!!! What happened to the athletic forwards of old, the true Saints style, Look at how Edmondson played at Wigan, that's the style of prop I want to see, not tug boat Anderson.

One final word, I wonder if Chris Caisley is moaning that we fielded a team with six players missing, and, still won!
